The last year for the "A" body Dusters, the big news for the 1976 Duster was the addition of the "Feather Duster." Featuring lightweight parts, some aluminum body panels, a slant six engine with and special exhaust system, the Feather Duster was designed for maximum fuel economy and was available with either a three speed manual or automatic transmission and boasted a gas mileage of over 30 mpg. A huge success and accomplishment for 1976! There was also a "Spirit of 76" Duster that featured a "Spirit of 76" sticker on the rear quarter panels. The Duster name would continue on, as it was moved to the F-body platform and resembled Volares.
