| The 1974 Corvette received a new smooth urethane body-color rear end to match the previous year front design, as the government required that all 1974 cars provide “crash” protection at the rear as well as the front. Bowing to increasing government regulations, 1974 would be the last year for the big block engines and true dual exhausts, among other things. The Corvette hit another record sales year as 37,502 were produced. |
