| In 1971, AMC discontinued the two-seated sports car version of the AMX, as it was now moved over to the top of the line model option on the Javelin. The first time ever as a 4-seater, the Javelin AMX included new swooping lines and came standard with sporty high-back bucket seats, a center console, sportier wheels and a rear spoiler. Engine options included the 360 cid V8 with 245 hp and optional was the 401 cid V8 "Go Package" which added the four-barrel carburetor, heavy-duty cooling, Twin-Grip power disc brakes, functional cowl-induction system, E60-15 white letter tires, 15x7 styled wheels, space saver spare and dual exhausts. |
