The 1967 Mercury Comet 427
In 1967 Mercury built a total of 60 427 powered Comets. There were two types of engines, the R-Code, which was the dual 4-barrel and the W-Code which was a single 4-barrel. The Dual 4-barrel has a horsepower rating of 425, while the single 4-barrel was 410 horsepower. There were four body styles: 202, Capri, Caliente and Cyclone.
The break down is:
22 in the 202 2-door post sedan model, all of which were R-codes ( This was the cheap body style )
7 in the Capri hardtop model, one ( 1 ) was a W-code Six ( 6 ) were R-codes
4 in the Caliente hardtop model all of which were R-codes
27 in the Cyclone hardtop model, Nineteen ( 19 ) were R-codes eight ( 8 ) were W-codes ( This was the top of the line body style)
