This 54 Merc. has completely stock running gear from front to rear( 256 Cu. In. V8 and Automatic Trans )with the only changes being the addition of a 80 Mustang Power Brake Booster and a Chrome Altenator. Picture #1 -- The "Sled" started out with 57 Caddy Caps and Wide Whites when I purchased it in Davenport Iowa. Picture #2 -- Suttle changes were made to make it more "Streetable" such as the addition of Chrome Wheels and Baby Moons, Radial tires replaced the Bias Belt Wide Whites and a completly rebuilt front end. Picture #3 -- The Echo Cans were replaced with a set of 5 inch Flared Megs to let the mellow sound of the Smittys ripple the air. Picture #4 -- The original radiator was replaced with a new 4 core that I had built to look like the original one. Neon Lights( Red )and Flame Throwers finish off( so far ) this never ending project.
