The pics you have of this car under this title show the correct Continental kit for a '53 Oldsmobile. Though unusual on a 4-door sedan, what makes this kit unique is that it is one of the very few which also extended the back-up lights. Most of such kits started below the back-up lights, this one includes extenders for the back-up lights. Extremely rare!
This particular car, out of Bridgewater, MA, has won many Best of Show, Best Engine in Show, 1st and 2nd place honors for attention to stock detail and/or correct options available in 1953 detail. In addition to power steering and power brakes, this car featured the optional 12-volt electrical power for the first time in 1953, deluxe radio with front and rear speakers, windshield washer glass reservoir, cadet visor with correct traffic control view finder dash prism, headlight visors and shields, front and rear chrome door handle guards and door trim, chrome vent shades on all windows, interior courtesy lamps, autronic eye automatic headlight beam adjuster, dual side view mirrors, fender skirts, full spare tire with correct wide white walls, the 303.75 cid V-8 165 hp engine, the fastest one to catch in 1953 of all makes and models.
