The original Champagne Metallic paint is in great shape. It still has a nice shine to it. It does have a couple of small paint chips but nothing very noticeable. This 380SL has been garaged and maintained very well. The trim is in good condition and is all intact. The bumpers are straight and the black rubber ends are in great shape. The front windshield has 2 small stars on the passenger side. The soft top is in nice condition and still looks new. The plastic windows do have some slight scratches from being in the stored position. The hard top removes easily and comes with the storage stand that it sits on while not in use. The front tires will need to be replaced as they are at about 2/32nds of tread left. The rears have about 5/32nds left. The Mercedes rims are in good shape and do not have any curb rash.
The interior is in great shape for its age. The seats are clean and comfortable and do not have any rips or tears in them. The headliner on the hardtop is in good shape and is clean. The carpets are in good condition and are clean. The dash is in good shape but does have a couple of small cracks in it. The wood trim is complete and in good shape. The only problem in the interior is the leather that wraps around the top of the rear section is coming undone towards the latches for the hard top.
This Mercedes seems to be very mechanically sound. The engine runs well and idles nicely. It has a current smog certificate. The transmission shifts as it should. All of the gauges work as they should. The lights work as they should as well. This vehicle appears to have been very well maintained throughout its life and by the condition it shows.
The 1985 Mercedes 380SL will make someone an excellent vehicle. This vehicle drives great and looks very nice.
