When the Chrysler 300 hit the streets, it was a new dawn in American luxury sedans. Rear-wheel drive, a fantastic look that was pure style, and road manners that rivaled Europes best, thanks to Europes best taking part in its design. But if the standard 300C wasnt enough, the SRT guys came through in a big way by adding a few tweaks to the standard 300C, creating a distinctive luxury sedan with the heart of a muscle car. With only 589 miles, one owner and the original window sticker (yes, you read that right), this is as fresh from the factory as youre going to get.
If youre not a fan of the recently redesigned 300, which kind of looks like a watered-down version of this car, maybe youve been looking for an older car with low mileage. Well, here it is, ready to rock. The original design still looks best dressed in SRT Design garb, with its deep chin spoiler and aggressive rear fascia, which combine with those oversized tires to make it look even longer, lower, and meaner than a garden-variety 300. The Steel Blue Metallic paint helps with the cars intimidating, formal look, like a heavyweight prizefighter in a tuxedo, and with the low miles, it remains in outstanding condition. There are a few signs of what might be called "shelf wear" but you know that its had an easy time of it over the past six years. Other SRT tricks include a subtle deck lid spoiler, special badging, and I, for one, like the big chrome grille and its a relief to see that they didnt feel the need to paint it body color for the performance model.
The black leather interior shows off its sports car DNA with deeply contoured bucket seats and a driver-oriented environment. Theres almost no wear on any of the seating surfaces despite the deep bolsters and youll note beautiful and subtle Chrysler logos on the backs. A fat leather-wrapped steering wheel transmits everything the front wheels are doing directly to your palms, yet the 300 doesnt forget where it comes from, so there are beautiful white-faced gauges with elegant markings. Everything you can think of was standard, including power windows, locks, and seats, climate control, cruise control, and a thundering AM/FM/CD stereo system with Boston Acoustics speakers. The back seat is upholstered in matching leather and suede and provides plenty of room for passengers, and theres enough room in the massive trunk for all their gear. And did I mention that its all in brand-new condition?
The heart of the 300C is the engine, which is a 5.7 liter Hemi with 340 horsepower, enough to make this car more than a little fun on the street. With 390 pounds of torque, it lunges off the line with a great V8 growl and the automatic transmission snaps through the gears with military precision, making for an endless rush of acceleration. Ride quality is quite good despite the performance-oriented suspension settings (thanks, Mercedes-Benz!), and 4-wheel disc brakes are powerful. Those gorgeous 20-inch alloy wheels were part of the SRT Design package and wear their original 245/45/20 Goodyear Eagle RSA performance tires.
The SRT Design package gives the 300C a leg up on its competition, and if you want the nicest one in the world, this is probably it. Call today!
