 Vehicle Description
Fourth-gen Firebirds are great looking cars. Sleek and angular, they look angry just standing still. Upgrade to the Trans Am and you get 305 horses worth of LS1 power. Take the final step and youll wind up with this: A 320 horsepower street dominator with a functional bulged hood and 13-second time slips. This two-owner car has been in the same hands since 2002, and its been garaged throughout his stewardship. A completely stock WS6 TA convertible like this one is really tough to find (only 467 made in 99), but when you do finally locate one, youll discover its almost always better maintained and adult owned. Look at the condition of the paint, for instance. Its nice and clean, with no major marks, dings or dents. Likewise the lights and lenses are original. The convertible top is in great shape with no apparent flaws. The bulged hood not only looks menacing, but its also functional. Inside, charcoal leather seats await your entry. Another obvious sign of care is the condition of the seat bolsters-other high mileage junkers always have ragged seats. WS6 cars came with just about everything Pontiac had available, including power windows, power locks, power mirrors, keyless entry, a premium sound system with CD player, tilt, a leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, full gauges, air conditioning, cruise, antilock brakes, dual airbags and a power top. Cool embroidered floor mats with the Firebird logo are at your feet, and you sit low and laid back, like a fighter jet. The windshield stretches out into the horizon and the car quakes with every blip of the throttle. Its a great place to be, especially with the top down! Under the hood is the 320 horsepower LS1, first introduced to the F-body platform in 1998. All aluminum for low weight, this powerhouse eclipses just about every muscle car era small block built and itll return better than 25 miles per gallon on the open road. Those coil covers are aftermarket, but theyre making up for just about the only deficiency of the LS-the older Mouse motors simply looked better. A new battery is in the corner, but everything else you see is original. Underneath, the very competent 4L60E transmission sends power to the 3.23 gear equipped 10-bolt rear end, so city traffic is only a matter of stomp and steer. The suspension is another WS6 high point, with DeCarbon shocks, bigger sway bars and higher spring rates than a regular Trans Am. A short/long arm suspension up front couples with a three link and torque arm setup out back deliver very high levels of grip. Four wheel disc brakes stop the car in a hurry. A quick look again shows nothing aftermarket, so you know the car hasnt been raced or abused. Its as dry as a bone from the radiator to the axle, and the condition speaks to this TAs southern roots. This Trans Am looks great, it still runs away from just about anything youll find on the streets today, and it handles better than any 60s muscle car ever did. Its the perfect blend of old and new, refinement and raw aggression. If youre looking for a fast, stylish drop-top, this ones priced right and ready to go. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
