Hang on to your hats cowpokes, this 1940 Ford Coupe Deluxe is not your standard classic. When it comes to Hot Rods and customs there are always a few cars that just take your breath away, and this one will have you turning blue. This one-off super car is known simply as "G-Force Forty", and let me tell you that there is nothing simple about this sleeper. She was built by the well-respected, two time, Most Beautiful Roadster AMBER winner at the Grand National Roadster Show, Lonnie Gilbertson of Portland, Oregon. From its all steel, hand fitted, original Forty Ford body, to its custom built 427 small block with one off Hillborn Injection, built by the late Rick Steele, this car is not for the faint of heart. All of this power is tied to a paddle-shift built by Mastershift with all the latest technology only found in Italian supercars and luxury sports cars. This unique paddle shift was built around a 6-speed Corvette manual transmission, tied to the Corvette rear end with a carbon fiber drive shaft. Hold the heck on to your horses, because at 711 HP with a stunning 607 lb-ft of torque, this monster will make any car guy crank their neck around for a second look. Corvette C5 brakes, disc on all four corners, stops the beast as fast as she starts. The backbone of this beauty is a Corvette C5, one off frame, and one off suspension. The front suspension had to be hand fitted to match the body line of the 40 and the rear suspension was designed with horizontal coil overs. This build is truly AMAZING! For the interior the builder worked around a traditional 40 Ford Cab, but added all Corvette instruments in a custom dash with fully machined billet gauge cluster, and Corvette seats (with five point harness), tied all together with Silver and Blue leather seating and door panels. Power steering, hidden Vintage Air system, and a kick ass audio system fills the cab with the most crisp, clear sound you could ever imagine. The mission with this build was to take a traditional looking hot rod that had to look good, function flawlessly, and have exceptional ergonomics. Then it would have to go fast and hold the turns like Velcro. Well boys, all we can say is: mission accomplished. There is way too much to list here, so you just have to see this car in person to appreciate all the details. Complete build photos available. Offered at $135,500 OBO.
