 Vehicle Description
It's rare that we take in a car this new. But it's even more rare to find a 17-year-old car this clean, this well-maintained, and with this few miles on the clock. This 1995 Mercedes-Benz S420 has fewer than 60,000 miles and looks like it just rolled off the factory floor in Stuttgart. It is owned by a consultant who travels during the week; this car is garaged and only driven on the weekend, and it shows. It's a two-owner car with service records going back to new.

Indeed, this is a rare opportunity to own a low-mileage, well-maintained, like new Mercedes-Benz for less than you would pay for a used Camry or Accord.

Mercedes upped the ante on its flagship S-class in the mid-90s in response to the Lexus LS400's charge into super luxury territory. Considered by many to be the last "over engineered" Benz, the build quality on this car is just incredible.

Supremely smooth, quiet and confident is how I would characterize the car's road manners, and the list of standard luxury appointments is simply remarkable, including:

- Double-paned soundproof glass to completely insulate you from the outside world
- 12-way power front seats with lumbar support and three memory settings... leather, of course
- Electrically operated automatic dimming rear-view mirror tied into the seat and steering wheel memory... because you can't be troubled to adjust the rear-view mirror when changing drivers
- Heated exterior mirrors to keep frost and condensation at bay on cool mornings
- Windshield wipers with heated washer system for those rare snowy days in the South
- Dual zone climate control, which can be set to continue providing heat for 20 minutes after the engine is off
- Self-closing doors and trunk
- Rear parking markers that rise from the rear corners of the trunk lid while in reverse (quite helpful parking a car this large in the days before electronic park distance control)

Under the hood lies an exceptionally reliable dual-overhead camshaft 4.2 liter V-8 that makes 275 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain offers smooth, effortless acceleration.

In short, this Benz was among the finest cars you could buy in 1995, and even today its features are miles ahead of what you'll find on an average car.

If you are in the market for a W140 of this vintage, this pristine example will provide years (and miles upon miles) of reliable and comfortable driving.
