Classic Car Cruise-In Coming to Downtown Fort Madison for the Big Buckle Bash
Fort Madison Main Street, an affiliate of Fort Madison Partners, is busy planning the second annual Big Buckle Bash for August 17 2013, with the help of Faeths Cigar Store, the City of Fort Madison, and the Tri-State Rodeo. The street festival this year will include three musical acts; mechanical bull and pony rides; clown and face painting; Hot Wing Competition; the Funky Cowgirl Prom and Big Buckle Contest; prizes and giveaways; arts & crafts vendors and shopping; tasty locally-made food and drink; and a Classic Car Cruise In!
For all classic car enthusiasts, cars must be pre-registered and parked by 4:30pm, but there are no other restrictions. Each enthusiast who pre-registers will receive two (2) free entries into the Big Buckle Bash (value of $10). We are encouraging as many people as possible to bring their cars to this huge event. Its a great opportunity to show off your labor of love and have a great time partying in the streets of Fort Madison. Plus, its a great cause, as this is a fundraiser for the Main Street program and its mission of downtown revitalization. Enthusiasts may register by calling or emailing Main Street (www.fortmadison.com).
Now in it's third year, the event draws nearly 2000 people. The event will start at 5pm on Saturday, August 18th and run through the evening.
Main Street is still accepting vendor applications for businesses, organizations, artists and craftsmen who would like to sell their goods and services at the event. We want to encourage small businesses and artisans to attend, so weve made sure to keep vendor fees very low. Applications and fees are due by August 10th, and are available at www.bigbucklebash.com.
Tickets are only $5/person, with children under the age of 12 being free. Tickets are available now at the Fort Madison Partners office at 614 9th Street, Fort Madison, IA. Credit cards, checks and cash are accepted. Tickets are also available the day of the event, at the gates (9th and Ave G).
