firstcar: Just recently joined and noticed the interest in Holdens. There are still a reasonable number still in use down under, along with fords from the same period. Must be the weather, but many have survived. Some have been completely restored to original, some with V8s dropped in, and some in original state. Check out the Holden Car Clubs of Australia, http://www.holden.org.au/ for some good pics of these cars. February 26, 2008 |

fenderuse22: No kidding! the front fenders are totally '55 chevy sheetmetal. the grill almost resemle's the chevy pickup's. I think this holde is a '57-'58? It's so trippy! in Aus, their 1960 and '61 fords were what we know as the '59! or has anybody seen the "1959 Chrysler ute" in the classiefied section!? it's the same sheet metal as a '56 plymouth! it's still right hand drive too. I wonder what this Holden's engine options were? if this has a GM straight six or a 283. that car looks pretty straight! it's really neat to see an australian car on here! I hope whoever has it has good plans for it. August 7, 2007 |
