The Southland Car Club was formed in early 1989 and Chartered a Non-Profit Organization. The SCC was formed for the enjoyment of Classic and Antique automobiles and is soley family affair. Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 at the Parkside Cafe in Pinelevel, NC, which includes a meal and club business. A monthly newsletter is sent to all members and news and activities are also reported on the web site www.southlandcarclub.com. Southland is very active in the community affairs and involved heavily in attending and hosting Classic Car Shows and Classic Car Displays at many festival and craft show events in several towns across the state of NC. In the past the Club has made monetary contributions to may organizations throughout Johnston Co, which includes Rescue Squads, Hospice, Relay of Life, Disaster Victim Relief Funds and other deserving organizations where their main purpose is helping others. Southland has also given several gifts to needy families in Johnston Co and started a $10,000 endowment fund at Johnston Community College, which created at $500 scholarship for a student each year. The Club continues to add to the fund. Southland Car Club welcomes new members who are interested in the preservation of old cars, having good clean fun ahd helping others.
