Christmas comes once a year. This truck comes twice in a lifetime and the first chance to get it passed you by in 1968... Original one-owner/ one driver for 8,250 miles. Absolute rare find and 99% original. Always stored indoors and up until now was last registered in the year 1975. Title in hand reflects the actual original mileage (now approx. 8,340). No misprint and your eyes are not playing games. The total mileage is eight thousand three hundred forty as of 12/14/12. Runs/drives and is 100% tight. Still has the original sticker on the spare tire. Never seen snow, salt, or ice. Door tag has identifying lines of code read and convert as follows; F10BEC16559 translates to: 300 cid, 6cyl engine 165HP with 8.8:1 compression 1-bbl carb , Assembly Plant was at Mawah, NJ. 131MJ F100 E 81 C 08 translates to: 131 Long wheelbase, MJ color code Rangoon Red and Wimbledon White, F100, E Red crush vinyl and red leeds pattern woven plastic, 81 Conventional Cab, C transmission 3-speed Ford Light Duty 08 3.50 axle ratio. The final line of code shows 05000GVW 132 Net HP 3500 RPM 11 (District that ordered the vehicle was Boston, MA.) Vehicle is currently registered and insured. Brand new tires were just installed. The original tires are off due to having flat spots from sitting, but they could be re-mounted for display as they look like they just rolled out of the factory themselves having no dry rot or cracks. A brand new radiator was needed and installed in order to be road worthy/dependable but the old radiator is included in the sale. Remanufactured OEM brake cylinder installed. The original may have gone missing after the swap out. I'll look and if it can be located, it too goes with vehicle. Kingpins replaced because bearings had deteriorated having sat in position so long. Gas tank was taken out and cleaned. A new pick up line was installed due to old fuel gumming the original. Carb rebuilt, new plugs, oil, filters, grease, rotor, cap etc.. Besides whats been described, there has been no reconditioning or changes to how this rolled off the assembly line. Most of these trucks have needed massive reconstruction dollars to be in as nice condition as this and in that process lose their originality. This truck has survived so-called upgrades, repaints, fancy new rims and drivetrain conversions. The original assembly line paint shows the flaws that are actually demonstrative of the quality control in the plant at the time period. The underside of the truck will impress you as well. There is very light surface crust at the cab corner area and on body area above front bumper and on hood. Little crustiness on interior chrome headliner molding - very typical for these. Couple light scratches here/there but no major gouges or denting. Manual windows, brakes and steering. AM radio works. Accessory 8track player not working but haven't tinkered with it. The intercom into the camper shell isn't working but probably would with some attention. All lights and gauges work. The lights on the mirrors are not factory nor is the CB post on the roof or the ornament holes in the hood. The camper cap is in time capsule condition as well and the lights on it work. I will not separate the two, the cap sells or stays with the truck. The bed is beautiful, it never had anything in it besides sleeping bags. This truck was only used as a camper by the original/previous owner. It has never carried trash, rocks, furniture, branches, etc. The paint in the bed looks as good as the paint everywhere else simply amazing. No rips in seat, no cracks in dash. Wipers, blinkers, horn, e-brake and everything else works like a New Old Stock Truck. Original Keys had been misplaced so locksmith recut keys for locks/ignition. I would like the potential buyer to come, kick the tires, and take out around the block (weather permitting). I can store this while shipping/delivery accommodations are made.
