| Vehicle Description |
I am the 3rd owner of this great truck with 113,000 original miles on body and 2500 miles on new drive train. Until bringing it to MN last year it spent all it's time in central MT and Portland, OR. Other than surface rust in the box (that as been treated with POR15)and very MINOR spots around a few bolts this truck is clean and straight. Paint is still in pretty good condition. This is a Custom Cab and all the trim and accents are there. Everything works both mechanically and electrically!! I drive this truck once or twice each week and it's a solid everyday driver. During the past 8 months I have done the following to make this a solid/dependable driver that literally drives and runs like new:
NEW:
V8 292
rebuilt original 2V carburetor
fuel pump
clutch, pilot bearing and fork
electronic ignition
original generator swapped out for 95amp 1 wire alternator and bracket
headers and dual exhaust
am/fm radio to look like original
stereo speakers mounted under seat
floor matting and sound dampening layer
added in-dash Autometer tach and volt meter
added windshield washer system as original option
heavy duty cold cranking battery
Zebarted undercarriage
water proofed inside of doors
windshield rubber
king pins
front disc brakes
radiator
There is a second gas tank under the box behind the driver side of the cab. It's not hooked up, just needs a switching valve and running a fresh rubber line to it. Also has a welded on trailer hitch under the back bumper. If you were to repaint this truck the only body work needed are minor dents in the box and on the tailgate, as well as filling some bolt holes on top of the box rail...rest of the sheet metal is damn near perfect! Engine compartment is very good. Truck is a special order model, so it has a Dana Spicer 60.2 rearend with 4.10 gears instead of the stock Ford 9".If you're serious about owning a SOLID truck of this vintage for a daily driver or to take to show caliber you won't be disappointed with this one.
