This 1971 Chevy C10 pickup is a great example of how you can mix and match factory parts and create something unique with an OEM look. Add one big block V8, a set of cool leather buckets, and a wicked stance, and you have an awesome muscle truck that attracts just as much attention as a Camaro or Firebird might. The biggest upgrade, aside from the bright red paint, is the 1993 Chevy stepside box out back, which looks so right, it may as well have been designed for the 71. Proportions are exactly right, and even the rocker moldings line up closely. Other upgrades include a cowl induction hood, a Chevy trademark dating back to the 60s, and a smooth tubular grille up front. With all the new parts installed and the remaining body parts straightened and sanded flat, the brilliant red paint went on and was polished to a high shine after it was dry. Theres a roll pan out back for a smooth look, a set of chrome bed rails up top, and the original chrome bumper was retained up front, but the truck as a whole looks remarkably integrated. Thats the virtue of using OEM parts - it looks like it was built that way. Big upgrades inside push it even farther towards the muscle car side of the equation. A pair of black leather racing buckets replaced the factory bench, and not only are they stylish, theyre incredibly comfortable with enough adjustability for anyone to get comfortable behind the fat, small-diameter steering wheel. The door panels and carpets are factory-style, and the original dash is full of gauges that are so nice, they have to have been restored recently, plus a tach front and center. Aluminum pedals add a performance look, and new rubber floor mats tied the black and red color scheme together perfectly. Youll also notice that the bed sports a fresh waterproof carpet bedliner and theres an AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit in the dash. This truck definitely gets the basics right. Big power comes from a big engine: a 454 cubic inch Chevy V8. Painted Chevy Orange with cool satin black valve covers, it looks powerful when you pop the hood, and clean inner fenders suggest that this truck has never been rusty. Upgrades include a Holly carb atop an Edelbrock intake, and a set of long-tube headers with a Flowmaster exhaust system. Power steering and power disc brakes maximize drivability, and the lowered suspension is surprisingly compliant. The original chassis shows no damage or rust, and Im fairly certain the light blue paint under there is factory original, so you know this truck was never used in a snowy climate. A TH350 3-speed automatic and a set of 4.11 gears complete the driveline, further enhancing the muscle truck image. Polished American Racing alloys wear fat 265/50/15 BFG radials that give it an aggressive look. If the Camaro were a pickup truck, this is exactly what it would look like. Call today!
