HAS IT ALL!

This amazing 47 Ford was built by Chris Wilson of Demons Speed Shop in Tucson, AZ to be his personal ride. http://www.demonsspeedshop.com/ (THANK YOU Chris for reaching out!) It was completed back in 2008. Since then it''s been featured in Street Trucks Magazine and has won several awards. It most recently won best custom at the 2015 Black Ice Show in Upland, CA. The lead picture was from this year''s Gatos SoCal show, and that''s Lady Lipstick (Miss Port Nationals 2015) posed in front.

It currently has 4,525 on the odometer. We drive it about 3-4 times a month to car shows and local cruise nights. I''ve taken it to shows 50 miles away in 90 degree heat on a number of occasions and never had any problems with it. It cruises nice at 65-70 MPH with low RPMs because of the overdrive transmission. Its registered, insured, and titled in California as a 1947 Ford truck. My family is growing so now Im mostly looking for a 2-door classic pre-70s car with a big backseat instead (see below).

Body & Frame

The cab is an original steel ''47, and the bed is all custom steel too. Fenders and running boards are fiberglass, and were sourced from Be Bops Glassworks. http://bebops-glassworks.com/

Notice the black vinyl that was used during the assembly process to protect the paint where these fiberglass pieces overlap (front end by headlights, fender ends, ends of running boards). Obviously this is a frame-off custom, and theres some cool kustom work in it too. The entire frame and firewall have been Rhino Lined. Theres a big Maltese cross sticking up through the middle of the bed that always blows people away. It looks like a thin cross but has a thick support hidden underneath.

The front end is from a 69 Camaro and has rack & pinion steering. The front grille is all kustom, high quality and very unique, far better looking than the stock vertical jail bar grilles they came with. The back tailgate is permanently closed, and the rear bumper is pulled in nice and tight. Kustom painted Ford on the tailgate. The paint was done by Travis Martin of East Side Rodz in Tucson, AZ and has satin finished denim purple, with glossy silver on the fenders. I''ve always used Rat Wax on the satin parts to maintain the right finish, and of course its garaged 24/7 when not in use.

Suspension & Brakes

This truck rides on air bags, on all four corners. It has an AVS ARC-7 series switch controller, 2 Viair compressors mounted perfectly, and a hidden tank underneath them. Never had any problems with the air system, but the bags will leak down if you leave it parked for a week. It''s a bit bouncy if the road isnt flat, so probably not the type of ride to take your grandma to her doctor visits in. But it looks bad ass when you roll up on a crowd, park, and drop it on the frame. I mean, thats why youre still reading this, right? Oh yeah, it even has a bolted-on frame guard under the front cross section to protect the frames finish. For brakes, it has disc brakes up front and drums in the back. It stops with confidence, nice and straight like it should. The wheels are 15 purple steelies, with wide whitewall 6.0 bias ply tires, and Moon Starburst hubcaps with purple dice valve stem caps.

Engine & Cooling

283ci. GM V8, Edelbrock Torker intake, dual Rochester carbs from Vintage Speed w/custom faux velocity stacks and K&N side air filters, MSD ignition, MSD 8.8 wires, and new spark plugs. It has old polished B&M 2-piece valve covers that have been clearanced inside (+ new gaskets), with new Earls AN breather/PCV combo. Has aluminized ceramic coated headers (+ new copper gaskets), and hidden dual exhaust that exits before the rear axle. The gas tank under the bench seat is new, fuel lines are braided, w/electric fuel pump. All aluminum radiator, 2 electric fans push & pull w/temp sensor, steel upper & lower coolant hoses, brand new polished aluminum Meziere water pump ($).
