| Vehicle Description |
Just lowered the price!!!
Excellent daily driver and showpiece! Used for the movie, "Patch Adams"!
This is the last year Crewcabs were imported! Paperwork from the last two owners saved. It is an older restoration, but in great condition inside and out. I have only had it a year, and I bought it because of its good condition, and so much had been done to it. We have added many more things to upgrade it, but are moving to Georgia and would like something with air conditioning. Sad....sad.....sad...
Here are some of the particulars:
1776cc engine, Kadrons with roller bearings, modified Porsche 912 air cleaners, full flow oil filter sump, stock cam, type 4 oil cooler. Modified fan shroud. 4 cylinder, manual transmission (4 and reverse) which uses gasoline, but with its new points, gets over 24 miles per gallon on highway - excellent!
Outside:
Black and white paint, with black emblem VW. White VW hubcaps.
New, old stock gates from Canada. Bed and gates treated with por-15 and line-x bedliner.
Original bumper overiders shortened to allow gates to open without interference.
Trailer hitch with towing capacity
BMW E30 M3 roof mount antenna
Small rust bubbling under paint on right side
EMPI H4 halogen lights
Front end, newer torsion arms, ball joints and tie rods, master cylinder.
Gas cap caddy holds the cap while you are refueling.
Inside:
3 door, with back window popouts. Rear and side windows made of tinted glass. Flat, single bay window
in back.
Rear seat ventilation (arm rests for the front!)
Nice black seats, front and back. The back seat and back lift off easily for access to a great amount of
storage.
Nice headliner and door panels
Five seatbelts, driver seat belt has new retractable shoulder belt.
Floors solid, with complete, fitted foot pad in front on both sides.
Two stage heater - air is brought in over the oil cooler into the stock heater boxes, but the difference is this heater works independently of the engine.
Spare tire and jack under passenger side seat.
On dashboard - tachometer, speedometer, oil pressure, oil temp, clock
What's newly added in the last couple of month:
Transmision
4 Tires
Set of points
Pioneer XM stereo/cd player
Drink holder in place of cigarette drawer, but still have drawer and is easily switched.
Retractable driver's side seat belt
Rubber seals
Checkover by extpert VW garage
And lots more!
If I had to give it some less than wonderful things to talk about....here goes:
Some minor paint bubbling on right side spot
Windshield wipers sometimes go haywire and swing way too far, wide. Work but the swing is wider than normal
Gear shift, 2d gear, is not straight down. It is a little to the right of straight down. Also, you pull a lever to go into reverse, and then you must pull itagain to get out of reverse.
72,000 miles
The new rubber seals make the doors harder to close since the rubber is "fat".
No air conditioning
Cannot open back seat windows by pushing on glass
That should do it! Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Ginger |
