DESCRIPTION

This is one of the finest examples of, in my opinion, the classiest Ford pickup design among those produced. The original owner spared no expense in outfitting this truck with the highest value options available. It has:

The 5.8 Liter EFI, V-8 engine (gasoline)
The E4OD automatic transmission (with 4 forward gears, including the switch controlled overdrive)
The Touch Drive 4 x 4 system (electrically controlled by switches inside the cab functions in one of 3 modes: Two Wheel Drive, 4 x 4, or in 4 x 4 LOW RANGE mode)

Other features include: A/C, power door locks, power windows, dual remote control mirrors, power lumbar supports, a removable seat-mounted console, a manually operated sunroof/moonroof, a hood mounted bug deflector, a fiberglass sun visor And a very nice LEER fiberglass topper, covering the carpeted truck bed.

I have owned and enjoyed this truck since early 1998, when I bought it from the original owner. At that time it had approximately 27,000 miles, so it has averaged right at 2000 miles per year during my ownership. My local Ford dealer and I have shared maintenance responsibilities for the truck. I have changed the crankcase oil at least every 3000 miles, according to the severe service guidance listed in the (included) Owner Manual. The local dealership has taken care of all other maintenance issues.

As could be expected, the truck is in excellent mechanical condition. The only issue which I am aware of is with the cruise control, which stopped working a few weeks ago. I have an appointment on Tuesday to have this corrected. The appointment has been kept, and the issue has been corrected. I think its likely related to a recall fix which was applied a few years ago.

Other than for normal maintenance, the only somewhat major issue we had to deal with was an occasional, but annoying, sound coming from the front end. They lubricated the front wheel bearings, then installed all new front suspension parts, followed by a wheel alignment No help. On the third inspection, they found a faulty hub in the left front wheel. They replaced both the left and the right hubs, and only charged me their parts cost for this, the third attempt at the fix, which I thought was very fair. Its been quiet since that time
