This is a 1953 Ford F100 Pickup Truck from California with less than 70,000 miles on the odometer. The truck has been finished with a high quality red paint job and the interior is finished in White Vinyl with Black carpets. This car was brought in 1988 from California by the current owner. In 1994 he started a frame off restoration that was not completed until 1999. Since the car came from California, the base truck was in great condition. He fiberglassed the running boards and the exterior of the gas tank and also had the inside of the tank specially cleaned. He replaced the bottoms of lower doors with whole panels and did all the body work with the best of materials. Everything was primed with a special stage II primer and then sanded and prepped for painting. The paint process used PPG Dupont Guards Red Base Coat Clear Coat with 3 coats of base color 4 coats of the best clear. It was wet sanded with 2000 wet paper and polished. The motor was removed and the engine compartment and the interior were painted the same color. The bumpers were also removed and replaced with a roll pan in the rear The back of the truck was cleaned up by removing the chains and teardropping the bed holes. Also replaced were all the window inners and new glass was installed along with new window rubbers and door rubbers along with new door handles, latches and rain shields; a sound barrier was also installed in the interior. The interior was done with the help of Car-New in Hyannis MA. The seat was replaced with one from a 1978 XLT Ford with high back and center divider and the truck has non-retractable seat belts installed. The interior including the door panels - was done with a high grade vinyl and new black carpeting and Built Ford tough mats were installed. The bed was done with four quarter mahogany and stainless polished strips. The wiring harness was replaced from dash to engine, the tail lights were upgraded with Ford script and blue dots and also added, new side mirrors and Ford step plates. The tires are raised white letter mounted on Cragar Mag Wheels with center spinners. The windshield wipers do not work as we need a replacement 6 volt motor; the only replacement motor available is 12 volt. For the same reason the temperature gauge does not work. The underneath of the truck is as nice as the exterior; very clean. The motor has a new clutch pressure plate and the throw out and pilot bearings have been replaced. The fly wheel has been honed, the oil pan gasket, rear main seal and transmission seals have all been replaced. This is an unbelievable truck, the 1953 Ford F-100 is very desirable and one in this condition will be hard to find. Do not let the opportunity to own this car pass you by.
