For sale, one 1957 GMC 1 ton 4 speed, four wheel drive.
This is my father's old work truck that we've had since circa 1975. Hoping it goes to someone who wants to fix it up as I don't feel that we are doing it justice where it is. The truck has been garage kept since we have owned it. The engine runs, or at least it did when I moved it 2 years ago, back into the shed I keep where I keep it. The box rotted out years ago and was replaced by the current homemade one. I am told that original boxes for these are not that hard to come by. The cab, etc. will need work as there are some areas that have been banged when it was used for hauling wood. There is also some rust in the usual places but the steel is heavier everywhere than it is on vehicles today. The frame appears very solid and in good shape. Some of the oil seals leak in the transfer case and the differentials form lack of use. I have one spare wheel and tire as well as a snow plow and a winch that can go with the truck....or not. Buyer's decision. Doesn't affect the price.
This truck began life, I am told, for use as a snowblower for a mining company in northern Quebec. We have used it to blow and later plow snow as well as for use in the woods. It has been basically idle in my shed for the last ten years. I take it out every couple of years just to circulate the oil, etc.
With regards to shipping, etc., the buyer will be responsible for picking it up or having it shipped. I should be able to drive it out and load it(onto a flatbed, say) under it's own power. I am accepting only certified cheques, money orders, etc. before the title is changed.
