 Vehicle Description
Up for sale is my trusty two-tone 1971 Travelall 1010 with 345 V8. I am the 3rd owner. It is a 4 on the floor, manual stick shift, and the 1st gear is a granny gear. This gear lets you start up with a heavy load like a breeze. It is so low that you can literally drive uphill at idle. It only has 74k original miles and is currently my daily driver (so mileage continually changes), passed NYS safety inspection. The tires have good tread, and there is a good full size spare with the original jack. The truck has some rust in a few places as expected, but the frame is in excellent condition, and this truck turns heads. Everybody marvels at what good shape this Travelall is in. I took it to the Nationals in Ohio. It has been garaged all of its life except for the last 2 years. It spent most of its life in Arizona in a shed in the desert, according to the man I bought it from. When I bought it in Oregon, I had been looking for a year for this exact truck, and he was the executor of an estate. I drove it from Oregon to upstate NY with no problems. Right now I would not hesitate to take this truck straight across the country. With the 3.54 gear ratio, it hums along at 80mph no problem, loves towing, and gas mileage has been 12mpg. Not too bad when you consider that my buddys 95 Suburban is getting about the same mileage. It tows like a dream, real straight. The owner I purchased it from had a lot of original parts carefully packaged up and I have maintained them that way. This truck is all original except for the custom exhaust. One thing that everybody comments on, & is the reason I bought this truck, is that it has the special rear ambulance doors which are designed for towing. Some people call them barn doors. These doors work great,&the truck has so much room in it that I can go get a load of drywall (4x8 sheets) from the store and fill up the truck &close it. These doors open up and out so as to clear a trailer when towing. It has a beast of a hitch on it, directly welded to the frame. The doors have releases on them to swing all the way wide, which is a blessing when hauling materials. Although I have loved this truck as a rare classic, I have driven it daily for the last 5 years. I put 25k on it, &loved each one of those miles. It has never let me down, starts every time, runs like a top, has had oil changes every 6 months/3000 mi, & I have continually bettered the vehicle since I purchased it.Must sell as I am starting a family & need the money to get married. Here is a list of items done to the Travelall -
New heavy duty clutch in 2011
New 60 AMP Alternator.(higher specs than required)
New Water Pump
New Horn
Brakes bled, hoses replaced, work fine, squeal sometimes

Carburetor was apparently rebuilt prior to my purchase according to previous owner.
Valve Cover Gaskets replaced, Rocker Cover gaskets replaced
Vacuum Leak corrected, Replaced L F inner and outer wheel bearings.
Exhaust is mostly new and sounds great. Vehicle is fast for its size, has great compression.New donut gaskets and flanges for manifold installed.
Just had oil and filter change, passes inspection with flying colors.
Lots more pics and info. The original Owners Manual which is in good condition, has notes from the original owner in it which are useful.I have all receipts, the original bill of sale.Problems:Occasional drop of oil on pavement/Seat upholstery is torn some, rust in wheel wells.Hard to get rid of because it is addictive-if you've had an international, you know what I'm referring to. Everytime I get out of this truck, I look back at her with love. But I'm starting a family so I have to let her go. If you want to test drive, call 303,,,913,,,5980 Thanks, Mike
