Engine: 6 cyl. Transmission: Manual Exterior Color: Bombay Ivory
Doors: 2 Interior Color: Cardinal Red

 Vehicle Description
1955 Chevrolet Cameo, 235 ci, straight 6, 3speed with O/D. California vehicle that came out of a field in Fresno in 1986, driven until 1990 then put up on blocks until 2008. At that time, work began on taking it all the apart and giving it a look that would be close to correct for 1955.

-Has correct California plates with correct year tab and period correct license plate frames
-Milage shows 70,436 at present. I have no way to verify but I believe it is original. When I bought it the odometer read just a bit over 63K. I have not yet put 500 miles on it since completion.
-Motor/tranny are original to truck
-All gauges are original and fully functional

What was done:
-Powdercoated frame and miscellaneous parts
-Rebuilt engine with hydraulic camshaft and valve train (stock would have been solids)
-Surfaced heads, block and flywheel
-Rebuilt carb
-Rebuilt brake wheel and master cylinder
-Replaced low speed gear in tranny (3rd gear was replaced in 88)
-Stainless bed strips with oak (stock was painted steel and pine)
-New exhaust system
-New chrome on bumpers, grill and miscellaneous parts (cannot find receipt but it was done by Superior Chrome here in San Jose)
-Paint is Bombay Ivory and Cardinal Red (found out after paint that the red is not correct color for the year, but it still looks nice)
-Only rust was on bottom of doors and a small area on passenger floorboard
-NOS seat covers and door panels
-Replica wire harness (using back up lights as turn signals)
-Rebuilt generator an and starter
-All new rubber wherever used
-NOS front windshield, sides rear and back are OEM to best of my knowledge
-Rims made from scratch by Stockton Wheels using an original as a pattern
-Tires are Goodyear replica from Coker Tire Co
-Emblems and stainless are original just chromed/polished

Aftermarket parts:
-All fasteners
-Rubber, gaskets
-Starter relay
-Bed strips and bolts
-Steering wheel and horn (have original steering wheel)
-Heater/defrost in-dash unit (have original)
-Turn signal unit
-Parking lights
-Note: almost all aftermarket parts were purchased from Classic Industries in southern California
-Antique Automobile Radio (Florida) AM/FM w/ IPOD adaptor in glovebox, Custom Autosound speakers (Fullerton, CA) under seat with original box still in place, just no speaker unit in it (have original); antenna connection was removed but could be redrilled
-Hubcaps (have three that came with truck but I think only two are original)

What it needs:
-Rear bumper consists of 7 parts and 14 bolts. It is still off on the horizontal plane 3/8-inch left to right. Taken it apart 6 times now and still not right. And as a result there are some nicks/chips in the rear pieces (small but still there) that will require a couple of pieces to be repainted to be done right
-If the truck sits for a couple of weeks without running it takes a few pumps on the accelerator pedal to get the gas into the carb. Fuel filter is clean and shows full (glass bowl) which makes me think it is a float issue
-Manual throttle is a bit stiff to pull out. Going to try graphite first but I think the problem is in the shaft/bushing in the carb body that was not replaced during card rebuild
-Original ignition; no key for glovebox and door lock. Needs new glovebox lock assembly and door lock assembly

Title is in my name

Have receipts for all except chrome and tranny. Still looking and will include/update if I do locate them

Have about 200 pics of the truck. If you have a specific request on a pic that is no included, let me know and I should be able to accommodate the request and get one loaded and sent

Below are 2 links to photos of the truck:
