 Vehicle Description
The builder says theres more than $40,000 wrapped up in this truck, and Im inclined to believe him. Which means youre getting stuff like the 502 crate motor, slick leather buckets, and dazzling paint for half price. Chevy experts will surely write to tell us thats a front clip from an 84 grafted onto the 73 cab, and the bed must have come from the same truck, too. But thanks to the unbeatable popularity and longevity of these trucks, the swap is totally seamless. Besides, if youre looking at details like that, youre totally missing the point. The trick twin snorkel hood is a good starting point, and the vivid electric blue paint says more about this trucks intentions than I ever could on paper. Its mean to grab attention, and that it does quite well. The bodywork is nicely done, so you know this wasnt some half-hearted effort, and the clean, unadorned sheetmetal screams custom from the billet grille to the rear roll pan. Theres no evidence of cut corners here, so we can only speculate why someone spending this much money on a build didnt see it through to the end. Its no less impressive inside, where the completely custom interior looks like something youd find at a street rod show instead of in a pickup truck. Those heavily bolstered black leather seats look straight out of a late-model F-body, and a wide center console was fabbed up, offering a complete entertainment system with AM/FM/CD/DVD player and a TV screen. If youre good with electronics, itll be an afternoons worth of work to get it all working and the wow factor cant be beat. The instrument panel features a polished billet face plate surrounding the original gauges, and controls include a leather-wrapped Grant GT wheel and a slick side-mounted shifter on the console. Like I said, the hard stuffs done just waiting for you to get in and kick it up a notch. And theres plenty of kick under the hood, thanks to a 502 cubic inch big block. The engine bay was clearly finished for show, and these engines certainly arent cheap. The list of suppliers includes Edelbrock, MSD, and Cool-Flex, all of which make this a Grade-A performance machine. Long-tube headers feed an X-pipe and a custom exhaust that sounds downright predatory, and the truck sits exactly right thanks to custom spindles, springs, and lowering blocks. A TH400 3-speed automatic feeds a built 12-bolt full of 3.73 gears, which will make short work of anything this side of a Corvette. Polished Torque Thrust wheels and fat Goodyears complete the look. If this truck were finished, theres no doubt that the owner would be looking to get more than twice this much money for it. Instead, its an opportunity for the smart builder, especially since all the hard work and investing is already done. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
