| Vehicle Description |
1969 GMC retired fire engine. Approximately 28,800 miles. Though, keep in mind the speedometer logged miles while the truck pumped. There is probably more like 12,000 miles on the chassis. And it feels like it. Truck is very tight.
Pump is missing. Truck does have a 1000 gallon tank that does not leak. All piping is in place to install a pump.
Truck has a 637 Big Block V-8. Very rare. Motor was installed only in GMC heavy duty trucks. I just tuned up it up. New cap, rotor, and plugs. She runs like a Swiss watch. LOTS of power.
Straight 5-speed Spicer transmission.
Air brakes. VERY loud air horn.
I took a photograph of the only rust spot on the entire truck, at the bottom of the front of the hood. Very easy fix.
There is also a spot of peeling paint on the passenger side of the hood. I took photo of that too. Another simple fix.
Truck was taken care of very good. All lights, switches, and components work. VERY SOLID TRUCK.
I added an air ride driver seat. Original seat was ripped. I will send old seat with the truck.
Truck is originally from Florida, then came to a Wisconin fire department in 1986. Truck is now being stored in central Wisconsin. |
