1949 DeSoto Deluxe Coupe. Very original car except for up- graded 318 V8. New Automatic transmission. 3 speed tourqe flight. The car does need the original yellow paint redone. I have never seen a 50s car this straight. Solid rust free metal all around. The paint is 20 footer. Rust free trunk and floors. No bondo. Brand new Power Flight Transmission (Not fluid drive) hooked up to reliable 318 V8. New exhaust. She is turn key and runs down the road 70 + no problems. Its a total sleeper at a light All original DeSoto grill and badges etc, I even have the impossible to find correct DeSoto full wheel covers and Hernado DeSoto hood ornement. Killer sun visor (A $500 accessory.) Nice interior with uncut dash. Will seats 6 adults or 10 grandchildren. Doors shut clunk solid. Has cowel vent (otherwise known as Oklahoma AC) and I have the AC compresser that was off of the doner car engine. Original heater and radio delete. The items needed; Carpets, Detail the underside and engine compartment. (The car had factory undercoating which preserved the body and deadend the road noise, but it looks pretty ugly.) Possibly replace the electric fuel pump and go back to mechanical. Fix one tiny corner crack in glass on passenger side. In my opinion this may very well be one of the best buys for a vintage coupe anywhere on the net. Had been in storage for most its life hence no rust issues BLACK PLATE. Scoots away from the lights mighty quick. Clean title current registration.
