Stk. 1776 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge
In the world of Classic and Collector cars, documentation can make all the difference in determining a cars history, provenance and most importantly value. With that said; let me tell you about this documented 3 owner 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge. According to its original build sheet and PHS documentation, this Sierra Yellow over Sandalwood GTO Hardtop Coupe was built in Baltimore, Maryland and then shipped to Attaway-Easterlin Pontiac in Greenville, South Carolina. As reflected on the factory window sticker, this GTO was ordered with the hallowed WT1 "The Judge" package consisting of a 348-L74 400 4bbl Ram Air engine, 474-N98 Rally II wheels, TPF-WT1 G70X14 BSW Fiberglass tires, T-Handle Shifter-w/manual transmission, Airfoil on rear, decklid specific stripes, The Judge + Ram Air Decals and black texture grille. Additional factory options that were selected included PX8 G70X14 WW Fiberglass tires, M40 Turbo Hydramatic Transmission, U63 Radio Push Button = W/S Ant, N34 Steering Wheel- Custom Sport, D55 Console, N41 Power Steering, AO2 Glass Soft Ray - Windshield Only, Y96 Springs + Shocks - Ride + Handling, and 896 Moldings - Wheel House Opening. Somewhere within the first two years of ownership the original YZ 400 ci engine had been replaced with a YD block from a Pontiac Bonneville. Now fast forward to 2007, when the current owner took delivery of this Judge from its second owner of some 26 years and decided that it was time for a full restoration to bring her back to her former glory. Being handy with a wrench, the owner decided to personally improve the Judges performance by replacing the old block with a later 400 mill from a 1976 Firebird, complete with the very desirable 6X heads and brought it up to Ram Air III specs. The owner took this coupe down to the metal and expertly refinished it with multiple coats of the original Sierra Yellow paint scheme. As a finishing touch, new Judge decals were reapplied to the glossy exterior. With assistance from Ames Performance Engineering the Sandalwood interior was brought back to life to live in harmony with its new outer self. The full restoration took approximately five years to deliver the results you see before you. If you have ever longed for a real Judge, take a close look at this one.
