 Vehicle Description
If you were an informed GM fan in the market for a new car in 1957, chances are you would have come home in something like this award-winning Bel Air. Restored by a gentleman named Gerald Bryant over the course of two years, the Bel Air presents as new in every conceivable way. The sheet metal is razor straight and topped by a rich coat of Onyx Black that extends underneath to the fully finished floor pans. The exterior wears all the correct chrome pieces alongside accessories like dual antennas and fender skirts. Lift the hood to find a correctly coded dual quad 283ci V8. The block wears a 1957-exclusive 3731548 casting number, supported by a F (Flint, MI) 625 (June, 25) EA (dual quad 283) engine ID. The carter carbs tuck neatly under AC oil bath air filters surrounded by correct pieces like the Delco generator and refinished exhaust manifolds. Behind the small block an early and correct Saginaw 3-speed manual transmission sends power back to a rebuilt date-code correct differential. Holding that road ready powertrain in place is a freshened suspension consisting of control arms up front, correct leaf springs out back and fresh AC Delco shocks at all four corners. Braking and steering are both manual. A set of 14-inch steelies with full wheel covers spin 7.50x14 wide whitewall tires to complete the look. Inside, a No. 676 red vinyl / red and black cloth interior features amenities like a Wonder Bar AM/FM radio, a clock, and chrome tissue dispenser.
