| Vehicle Description |
** AS OF 7-30, THIS CAR IS OFFICIALLY SOLD ** UNSURE HOW TO PULL AD!
You are looking at a 1974 Pontiac Grand Ville. The car retains its original 455 engine and 400 turbo transmission. 75,575 original miles. I have owned the car since 2001. Finished in its original Ascot Silver with a black Cordova vinyl top. The original black cloth interior is near-perfect. This is the most comfortable riding car I have ever owned, and I have owned many full size GMs of this vintage. Car inlcudes the factory 15" Rally II wheels and rear fender skirts. All chrome and brightwork is in very good condition. Car is driven on a regular basis in the summer months. Includes 3" alumized exhaust with Flowmaster 30 Series Top Ten Shootout Mufflers.
There are two reasons why I have decided to part with the car:
1. Paint - Although it's hard to tell from the pictures, the back half of the car is faded, with the trunk being the worst. There is a section of paint missing on the panel between the trunk lid and the rear glass. Not long after I'd bought the car, I'd called the original owner to see why the front half was so much shinier. He apparently didn't have a garage quite deep enough to get the entire car in, and had to keep it parked with the garage door partially open. The car is in good enough condition overall that it rightfully deserves a repaint.
2. Engine miss - The engine unfortunately developed a noticeable miss two years ago. I have done the following to try and resolve the problem: New billet HEI distributor, new HEI coil, new plugs, new plug wires, all new vaccuum lines in the engine compartment, rebuilt Quadra-Jet carbuerator, new fuel filter, and I did a compression check. All eight cylinders checked out good and consistent. The power brake booster is bad (makes a hissing noise inside the car when the brake pedal is depressed), which I'm sure is contributing to a vaccuum leak. The starter could also stand to be replaced. These are relatively easy items to replace, which I will be taking care of if the car doesn't sell.
Price reduced to $1,500 firm. If someone really wants to haggle on the price, I will keep the Rally II wheels and the buyer can supply their own rims and tires. Payment is accepted in the form of a cashier's check or cash. If a cashier's check is used, all funds must clear my account before the title or the car is released. Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements. I will be happy to help assist with the coordination of pickup. Additional pictures are available upon request. |
