The Barracuda line for 1970 offered buyer a wider choice of models and engines. Three styles were availablewith a total of nine engines. Stress was placed on extending the racy image of long hoods / short decks and rakish windshields. The specialty / preformance class ''Cuda offered a innovative ''shaker; hood option. A classy Gran Coupe was the top of the line. Even the 426 cubic inch ''Street Hemi'' was now offered in special Barracudas, built in limited numbers.Standard equipment in Barracudas include high-backbuckets with all-vinyl trim; integrat head rests; molded door and quarter trim panels; flood lighted instrament panel; three-spoke wood grain steering wheel; floor shift; carpeting; 225 cubic inch Six and E78-15 fiberglass belted tires. The Gran Coupe had all Barracuda items, plus body sill, wheel lipand beltline moldings; Gran Coupe emblems; leather bucket seats and consolette in Knit Jersey (hardtop only); molded headlinerand, in convertible, leather bucket seats. DeLuxe vinyl or cloth and vinyl trims were available at lowered cost. The ''Cuda carried all Gran Coupe equipment, plus the four-barrel ''383'' V-8; heavy-duty suspension and drum brakes; ''Cuda ornsmentation and F70-14 white letter tires. The "Street Hemi'' came as an $871.45 extra in Torquflite equipped ''Cudas. Few were ordered.
