 Vehicle Description
I am selling my 1978 Plymouth Volare wagon after much deliberation. I will be sad to see it go, but I really look forward to my baby girl arriving this September.

I bought this car from a neighbor who had the car since 1980. It was taken care of and runs very well. I have a 1 inch thick folder with every maintenance record and receipt for everything done on the car since she and her late husband purchased it. They maintained the car the right way: if it broke, have it fixed right by a mechanic who knows what he's doing. The car has 140XXX miles on it. It is a 318 2bbl car that had the lean burn spark system on it. This system was replaced by a conventional Mopar electronic ignition system to save the hassle of a sketchy 1978 computer leaving the operator stranded. I replaced the steel fuel lines (both main and return). The tires are basically brand new with less than 5,000 miles on them. New ball joints and suspension parts. The interior is about 7/10. Get a $99 dash cap and a front seat cover and it will be 9.5/10. New hatch weather stripping installed to prevent leaks and trunk rust. Solid floors and trunk pan (even spare tire well is solid). The outer body has typical 1978 car rust. Lower rear fenders and lower quarters, some on the doors. Thankfully, the rotted places are mostly flat, so it won't take a fabrication genius to cut out some good steel patches and do it right. If you're a bondo/ fiberglass rust hole filler, please don't buy my car. I want it to go to someone who will do things right the first time!

The A/C is complete. I vacuumed the system down and it did hold a vacuum. The compressor is full of good oil so it's probably not roached, those old Mopar units are tough. It looks like you may have A/C with some R134A conversion valves and possibly some different compressor oil (do research on the oil needs). The heater works well. The brakes are new. It has a recent water pump, thermostat, coolant hoses and cap.

I drive this car 40+ miles per day to work and get 20 MPG or so. I can attest to its reliability. It will sit in traffic for 30 minutes and the temperature gauge will stay at normal operating temperature and it will idle perfectly. Uses no oil, leaks almost nothing. I have driven it to Wichita (3 hours) with no issues. It is a solid driver and a conversation piece. People love this car! It is great for cruising around and would be really fun at a cruise night. Recently passed MO state inspection after an exhaust system pipe was replaced between cat and muffler.

Call me and we can talk about this car. Come over and check out the history for yourself. I have set a bottom dollar for myself. If it doesn't sell for that amount the car will stay with the family. I don't need the money so please no low offers.

Thanks for looking!
