This fantastic 1955 Chevy Bel Air custom shows you what a feminine touch can do to one of the worlds most popular cruisers. Owned and driven often by a lady, this gorgeous coupe features a stunning color combination that none of us guys would have come up with by ourselves, but we all have to admit - it actually looks really good. Basic black doesnt go out of style, of course, and done to this level it definitely attracts more than its share of attention. The best customs make subtle changes and leave the rest in the imagination of the viewer, but this one has had its nose shaved and its grille blacked-out, along with a set of tinted taillight lenses flanking the shaved deck lid, which all give it a smooth look. The bodywork is first-rate in every way, with ultra-straight sheetmetal, great gaps, and no real evidence that it has been driven and enjoyed as much as it has. Of course, you may notice the two stripes running along the rocker panels, but they tie in perfectly with the gorgeous interior, and the result, as I said, is something that borders on art. All the chrome has obviously been refinished and glitters like jewelry against the black background. The interior is the sparkling jewel in this cars crown. Sure, the ultra-straight black paint is arresting, but when you get a look inside, youll fall in love all over again. The original bench seats have been reupholstered in burgundy and cream tweed and vinyl, and the result is positively spectacular. Admit it, you love how it looks and would never have thought of it yourself, right? Thats the idea and it definitely works extremely well. Matching door panels and dark carpets were fitted, and the original dash is full of upgrades. The original speedo is still in place, but a trio of auxiliary gauges were mounted down low, along with a modern AM/FM/CD stereo and satellite radio head unit, so you dont have to cruise in silence. A late-model steering wheel and a tilt column make it easy to get comfortable and the fully upholstered trunk means you can bring all your clothes with you. Power comes from a 350 Chevy dressed in the traditional way. Plenty of chrome and polished aluminum looks great against the Chevy Orange block, and in that black engine bay, it stands out the same way the interior does. Braided stainless hose sleeves add a racy effect without the maintenance issues, and a dual master cylinder was installed for safetys sake. Its backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and sounds fantastic through the long-tube headers and dual exhaust. A new tubular front suspension rides great, augmented by fresh shocks on the 10-bolt out back. 15-inch Torque Thrusts with spinners look right and wear right-sized 215/70/15 blackwall radials. With a great color combination that you wont see at every cruise night, this 55 is a masterfully executed custom that truly stands out. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
