 Vehicle Description
Here we have a real life General Lee movie car. This 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee replica has been built from real movie car parts from the 2005 movie "Dukes of Hazzard." The previous owner worked on the set of the 2005 "Dukes of Hazzard" movie as a picture car mechanic. He was involved in locating, building and maintaining of the pre-production and production cars in this movie. The previous seller has pictures with himself and some of the cast and crew members from the movie. Car has original sheet metal except for the fiberglass hood. This car has the original motor and trans from the TV series car and original seats and parts from the 2005 movie car. The 383CI and 727 trans were taken out of the TV Hero car to put in the HEMI engine for the movie. Both engine and trans have been professionally built and dyno tested. The interior is done to General Lee specs including replica steering wheel, B amp;M Shifter, tach, CB radio, CD player, CB antenna, harness, etc. This car has a partial roll cage. Holley 4BBL carb, edelbrock intake, flex fan, Optima battery, tubular headers, cherry bomb turbo mufflers, new dual exhaust and of course - the General Lee horn. This General Lee replica is a one of a kind that has been built with parts from cars from both the TV series and the 2005 movie. Have affidavit verifying the genuine movie parts.
Just a little General Lee history:
The television series The Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985) featured a 1969 Dodge Charger that was named The General Lee, often noted as being the most recognizable car in the world. "The General" sported the Confederate battle flag painted on the roof and the words "GENERAL LEE" over each door. The windows were always open, as the doors were welded shut. The number "01" is painted on both doors. Also, when the horn button was pressed, it played the first 12 notes from the de facto Confederate States anthem "Dixie Land". The muscle car performed spectacular jumps in almost every episode, and the shows popularity produced a surge of interest in the car. The show itself purchased hundreds of Chargers for stunts, as they generally destroyed at least one car per episode.
Please, call us at 800-231-3616 for more details on this car.
