 Vehicle Description
The Country Squire was the premium station wagon in the Ford range, and always featured real- or imitation-wood trim on the doors and tailgate. As a full-size wagon, it could carry up to 9 passengers as this one. With keeping with the original styling cues, this custom 1964 Ford Country Squire Wagon retains the original styled imitation wood paneling on the sides which looks great. With a custom leather interior, a 289 crate motor under the hood and a perfect lowered stance, this car will draw all eyes upon you when you roll up to your next car show or cruise. This particular car was purchased from the original owner in 2002 by a local gentleman here in St. Louis. He then began a 3 year long restoration process on the car to transform it into what you see today. The paint on the car is nearly perfect with only one small blemish to the front hood where there was something dropped onto it. This spot is small and about the size of a pencil eraser that has been touched up. The imitation wood on the sides and back of the car look great and gives the wagon that classic, Country Squire look. Front and rear bumpers have been rechromed and show nicely with no major imperfections. They retain a great shine as does the rest of the stainless, trim and roof rails. Inside, the seats have been recovered in high quality vinyl and look great. The door panels and kick panels and headliner all match in quality and material. The carpet is new and shows great with no staining or major wear. The original look of the interior has been saved for the most part with the original dash and style seats. This is a nine passenger wagon and does have the fold down rear seat. There has been an aftermarket cold air box installed under the dash. A/C does work and blows cold. Under that there is an AM/FM CD player. A nice detail inside is the Billet Specialties steering wheel that matches the wheels on the car. Very nice touch! All lights, blinkers and wipers work with no problems. Under the hood, the Ford Racing, 289 Cu In V8 crate motor is nicely detailed and looks great in the painted engine compartment. The block has been color matched to the rest of the car. The car does have power steering and A/C but not power brakes. There are disc brakes in the front but drums in the rear. The car starts right up with no issues and goes down the road with ease. Ive put around 100 miles on the car with no issues. The car cruises nicely at highway speeds. The wheels are from Billet Specialties and are 18" in the front and 20" in the rear. They are wrapped with new Firestone radial tires. The stance on the car is perfect and on the road the car is smooth. Not excessively rough like many lowered cars. There are new, modern seatbelts installed on all seats. The VIN number is 4Z78C111386 and the current mileage shows 97,224 which actual for the car. This car is show quality and ready to be driven to the next car cruise or across the country.
