Engine: 8 cyl. Transmission: Manual Exterior Color: Red

 Vehicle Description
1968 Firebird 400 Convertible, Body is red, top is black, interior is black. Frame off restoration. All brand new parts. Over $40,000 thrown into it Less than 1000 miles on rebuilt 400, has the gauges package (oil press, temp...) I also have many spare parts that go with the vehicle. Two AM radios, not in the car, one is in the car, power convertible top frame left side? Manual frame right? side, old parts removed, way to numerous to list, but it takes up an entire workbench along the entire lenght of my garage.

Don't let the water under the car in the photo fool you, it was from another vehicle!

The restoration is not complete, but the car is driveable. I have cherry bombs temp installed, waiting to install the thrush? mufflers. The carpet is partially installed, the new door panels are temp installed, waiting for the new windows to be adjusted to the convertible frame which was removed and bead blasted / painted and replaced. It has the 400 front bumper emblem, 400 hood, brand new top, looks great!

List of things to be completed...

Finish installing firewall pad, rocker panel covers (2 mins to install), carpet over those covers, rocker panel moulding, glove box, glove box door, vent ducting, vent covers, kick panels, seat belts, mount console, replace 1" sway bar with the original 1/2".

I'd like to replace the front springs with lighter springs, and replace the multileaf rear springs with mono to make it ride smoother. I couldn't find front springs for a 68 400 conv WITHOUT AC.

The engine was rebuilt at Allis Machine in Milwaukee about 3 years ago, has almost 900 miles, engine codes match a 68 Firebird. Tranny was a Saginaw, I replaced it with the Muncie.

You can view it at...

But if too many people view it, you'll have to wait an hour to see it.(download limit) Now they are killing the web site, so it may not be available...

Selling for $18,000 (If your asking to buy for any less, answer is no)
There have been lots of inquiries about this car which has only got me interested in finishing it, so between working on my Electric S10 (www.evalbum.com/1752) I'll start finishing what I can when I can.

Serious inquires only, e-mail 'Ask seller a question' link. I've left my phone number on this site, but only call if you really plan on buying something like this. I've had the guys calling for test rides, afterwhich telling me they really want a Mustang. What a waste of my time! Its a car, its got all new suspension and the engine and tranny work great, so yes it drives down the street! No more test rides unless we intend to trade cash for title.
