1987 CHEVY CORVETTE RALLYE SPORT.

A quick history, I bought it last year in October from a man that lives around the corner. He told me that he had purchased it from the original owner. He also told me that it was a Rally Sport. I had not heard of this type of Corvette, but think that it is one that has special red markings on the front, and a factory installed spoiler. The first picture shows the red markings. I removed them, as I did not like the way they made the car look.




This car is perfect for that person that wants to get their first Corvette at a reasonable price.

Good points of this car:

1.Fairly priced for this condition.
2.Overall very good body condition for this age of vehicle.
3.Interior is good, just needs to be detailed. Has some stress cracks on some of the plastic moldings. #22
4.Good strong engine. I had my shop run the diagnostics when I got it and they gave an overall OK.
5.Since I bought it, I did all of the regular maintenance like oil change and filter, all fluids checked, front end alignment, tire balance, replaced the serpentine belt, CV joints and suspension checked, brake hoses inspected, exhaust system inspected, replaced coolant temp sensor, interior lights all replaced, engine compartment lights repaired, automatic transmission fluid levels inspected, and new wiper motor, cover module and wiper blades. I have only put about 3,500 miles on it.
6.Engine has been cleaned, but not steamed. Interior still needs to have the carpets and seats cleaned. Have not got to that yet. Interior is in good shape. Some of the carpet on the side door panels is starting to curl slightly, but is acceptable.
7.Good looking wheels and factory installed spoiler.
8.Center roof comes out, and stores in the rear compartment.
9.Have a spare radio and cloth car cover.

Items that need attention:

1.To make this car really stand out, carpets should be replaced in the back storage area. The curved glass has faded these. Not noticeable when the rear compartment cover is pulled. Back window with release mechanism is great when traveling or going to the grocery store.
2.Radio works but needs a new antenna motor. Does not automatically retract when you turn the radio off.
3.Passenger side door has some repair work that needs to be done.
4.The paint on the top roll bar needs to be shot with some clear coat.
