 Vehicle Description
America's love affair with the Corvette has continued unabated for nearly 60 years. The model is so iconic (and sexy, I might add) that it needs no introduction -- and it has stood at the very top of U.S.-made sports cars since its unveiling in 1953.

The C4, which ran from 1983 to 1996, offers the lowest cost of entry into the Corvette family --but don't let the price fool you. This very clean, low mileage 1992 C4 Corvette is a lot of car for the money. Three things make this car special: first, it's black on black, the best color combination. Second, it's got a rare ZF six-speed manual gearbox. And third, we've gone to the time and expense to replace the plugs, wires and water pump, saving you the trouble.

The Corvette was always Chevrolet's technological tour-de-force, crammed with the latest innovations -- a trend that continued through C4. 1992 was the first year for the LT1, an updated version of the 350 with reverse-flow cooling that allowed the compression ratio to be bumped up to 10.5 to 1. The LT1 makes a whopping 300 horsepower and 330 pound feet of torque. Couple that power plant to the six-speed manual transmission, and you get one powerful and fun to drive sports car.

This 'Vette, with just 91,000 miles, is one of the cleanest examples we've seen. The paint is original and shows well; the original interior has very little wear. The car has clearly been driven by very caring owners. The C4 got a facelift in '91, and I would characterize the styling of the later C4s as timeless -- this '92 is sporting ZR1-style 17" wheels, further adding to its appeal. The car looks and feels far younger than its 21 years would imply.

Mechanically, this C4 is in great shape -- all systems inside and out are working as they should. Tires are newer with plenty of tread remaining. Traction control was standard by 1992, but you can turn it off with the touch of a button -- and man is this car fun to get sideways.

Tight, tossable and tail-happy are words that come to mind when driving this car hard -- easy to step out and control, and just a blast to drive. Unfortunately, this means many examples get rode hard and put up wet -- but this one has clearly been babied and it shows. All in all, this is a very well sorted, turn-key C4 -- and probably the most performance for the money you can currently buy. Give us a call at 404-692-5250 if you're interested in learning more about this great driving, great looking Corvette.
