I'll try to keep this short & sweet * My buddy owned this IROC for the last "8" years & invested a small fortune in it. He had the body striped down(absolutely no rust what so ever)& had a quality paint job done. New stripes & a hinged fiberglass IROC cowl hood installed.
He replaced the smog low compression 305cu.with a 350cu. bored .030(355cu) using forged flat top pistons. Balanced & Blue-printed with an honest 10.0.1 compression. Cam specs are mild 454/454 - 276 duration for good vacuum. Iron heads with 202/160 valves. Aftermarket performance MAF, MAP & upgrade ECM. The aftermarket Tune-port intake received bigger injectors & is plumed with a 150hp Nitrous kit & 20 lb bottle. The fuel system was also up-graded to support the Nitrous. Headers & a complete Pipes Performance exhaust system. Believe it or not, my buddy scared himself so bad on the bottle, he never used it again - LOL - hope he doesn't see this listing.
Transmission is the original unit, performance rebuild with the best parts money could buy. The stall converter is also special unit built for Nitrous cars 3,500 to 3,800 lbs(1,800 to 2,200 rpms - very streetable) The G80 rear was rebuilt with performance parts & 4.10 gears. Snaps your neck in all 4 gears.
There's a vacumm gauge mounted in the cowl hood, mechanical oil & water gauges mounted inside the car. Fuel pressure mounted on the Tune-port unit. The factory speedo & tachometer work perfect, as does the fuel gauge & dash/gauge lights. It also has a very nice JVC stereo professionally installed where the original radio once was. Just last year he put new chrome IROC rims/tires on.
Naturally he couldn't leave the factory F-41 suspension/brakes alone & did some upgrades there also. It holds the road like a giant go-cart.
Lastly the interior. In my personal opinion it's still quite nice, but not perfect. The headliner is just starting to sag & one spot on each door panel will need repair. Back seat good, front seats fair, but the carpet is very good. No signs of water damage, so the t-tops don't leak. Dash is perfect & the console is also very nice. I may even fix the areas mentioned, but naturally the price will have to go some.
The reason why my buddy sold me this car & his 97 Z-28/SS(as a package deal) is because he's about to live every Corvette man's dream, he ordered a brand new 2013 ZR1 & needed to pull all his resources together for the down payment. His lose is your gain. I bought the car reasonable, I'm not looking to make a million bucks - so I can sell it reasonable. Taking everything into consideration, I believe $6,500 a very reasonable selling price or something very close to it. If not I'll just keep it & give it to my wife to use for cruise nights & local car shows.
I apologize for being so long winded, but I'm the type of guy to disclose all I know. There's just way too many sellers on the internet today that act as if they are doing the potential buyer a favor with their two line desciptions. Call me old school/old fashion, just not late for dinner - LOL.
