Some say Hemi Fever has cooled, but youre still not going to get a legit drop-top E-body with 426 cubic inches for under a quarter million. Unless, of course, you take home this awesome Sub-Lime Challenger R/T tribute, which delivers the same big block thrills for a more palatable price. You can forget sneaking around in anything with Hemi power, but combined with outrageous Sub Lime paint, youll be the center of attention anywhere you go. There arent many cars from the muscle car era that are better proportioned than the Challenger, with a long hood/short deck profile and aggressive graphics that were penned by designers at the top of their game. The transformation was complete, and includes a Shaker hood, a rear spoiler, and correct R/T stripes along the flanks. An Elastomeric front bumper gives it a monochromatic look and the rear bumper has been painted to match. Workmanship is good, with straight, shiny sheetmetal and factory-style panel alignment, giving this tribute a very authentic look and feel. If you like the color, youre gonna love the car! Inside theres an all-new black and white interior, complete with original high-back buckets, a center console, and proper molded door panels that are sparkling clean. New black carpets keep it from being white overload, and combined with the black dash, it looks like the proverbial million bucks. A complete set of Rallye gauges have been fitted, and an original Tuff Wheel and pistol-grip shifter add authenticity. The matching white convertible top is power actuated with a glass rear window, but you probably wont have much use for it-this car is just too much fun with the top down. And the reason is simple: 426 cubic inches of Hemi V8 under the hood. A fresh crate motor, it has been dressed in original Hemi Orange paint, crinkle-finish valve covers, and that massive scoop feeding a pair of 4-barrel carbs. Its a tight fit in there, but you can see that the builders went the extra mile, using correct finishes and components wherever possible and including goodies like power steering and power disc brakes. Theres even a correct yellow cap battery for a very OEM look under the hood. The chassis is also nicely detailed, with bright Sub Lime floors, a correct 4-speed transmission and an indestructible Dana 60 out back, just as they were originally. Factory markings were duplicated for a bit of authenticity, and a new dual exhaust system uses original-style mufflers and resonators for a perfect sound. And no Hemi Challenger is complete without a set of restored Rallye wheels wearing correct G70-15 Goodyear Wide Oval tires. Big power, high visibility, and tons of fun. Theres just nothing better than a Hemi, unless its a Hemi you can drive without worries about your investment. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
