DESCRIPTION
You are viewing a 1964 Corvair Spyder Convertible, thought by many to be the most desirable Corvair model, one of only 4761 ever built. In 1964 the Monza Spyder became it's own model instead of an option. The engine went from 145 cu.in. to a stroked 164cu.in. It was factory Turbo-Charged producing 150HP. All were 4-speeds with a unique dash and special body trim. A transverse rear spring was added to improve handling. This Spyder was fully restored in the mid 90"s using NOS parts. It was then shown extensively earning senior status at CORSA concours. Make no mistake, this Spyder is no trailer queen, it runs strong and is a blast to drive. We purchased this Spyder in Oct. 2006. It now has just over 76,000 miles and given it''s history is believed to be original. Known Corvair specialist/guru Mike Dawson went through the car soon after purchase and fixed or tweaked anything that was needed. This Spyder is in excellent condition throughout as can be seen in the photos. The value of this model continues to increase as noted by Haegerty's.com. Going to retire, so it is time to let someone else enjoy this great Spyder. Please call or email any questions you have.
