 Vehicle Description
The Ford Model A deserves a special place in automotive history. After the phenomenal success of the Model T, other manufacturers caught up to Ford by the mid-1920s -- and by the late '20s the venerable old T was losing ground against more "modern" cars with "conveniences" such as electric starters and standardized driving controls. Henry Ford famously denounced electric starters as an unnecessary extravagance, but he wasn't blind to the market forces at work -- so Ford completely stopped production on the Model T to design, retool its factories, and start manufacturing the Model A. It was an overnight success, with more than a million units bought in the first three months alone. Nearly five million were sold from 1928 to 1932.

This 1930 Model A five-window coupe with a rumble seat is a frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration owned by the same family for over 60 years. The current owner's father bought this car in Florida in 1948 after he returned from World War II; he drove the car to Atlanta where it has lived ever since. The car was fully restored from 2007 to 2008 to better-than-new condition, and it has only been driven a few dozen "break in" miles since.

During the restoration, the engine, brakes, steering, electric and cooling systems were completely rebuilt. Pretty much every component on the car has been either replaced or restored, and it's mechanically one of the soundest Model As we have seen. The body was restored to an equally high standard, with a high-end repaint in correct Bronson Yellow and Seal Brown with Orange trim and wheels. The shop that restored this car found no visible accident history during the work. Tires are new Firestone whitewalls on 16-inch wheels from a 1935 Ford. The wheels have been powder coated and are in excellent condition.

Both the interior and the rumble seat have been painstakingly restored with all new, correct materials. The door panels, headliner, carpet, piping and seat upholstery are all new reproductions true to the original materials and they look and feel fantastic.

This example is very well documented, with the registration card from 1948 and an entire folder dedicated to parts and labor for the restoration. There's some built-in equity with this one, too, with more than $25,000 in restoration receipts and an appraisal value north of $35,000.

We are offering a rare opportunity to own this meticulously restored Model A, on the market for the first time in 65 years. For more information, give us a call at 404-692-5250.
