Clean and sophisticated, this beautiful 1963 Impala hardtop with SS trim throughout is a mild custom that preserves all that is great about the early Impala and adds a many modern touches to create something you'll look forward to driving and showing this summer. That dazzling paint job is a brilliant factory correct two-tone Silver Blue with Ermine white top, which has a unique shine and depth that has to be seen to be appreciated, especially in the sun.
The interior is in very good condition with the normal wear to be expected. 100% correct Super Sport interior with console and floor shifter. White head-liner in very good condition.
All the correct Impala SS trim was restored to show condition, including the long stainless trim along the body sides, and proper Impala emblems on the quarter panels. The list of new components is extensive, ranging from the door panels and carpets, and a Sony AM/FM/Tape/MP3 dead-head unit neatly tucked into the glove box and out of sight with remote control and speakers in the kick panels has been installed for entertainment. The custom components are expertly installed including a full custom in-dash gauge set and the trunk carries a full sized spare and some tools that are included with the car.
Reliable power comes from a GM 350 crate motor with HEI ignition, which, of course, fits like it was born in the Impalas engine bay. The finned aluminum valve covers give a classic look. A GM Quadra-jet carburetor delivers fuel and it uses stock exhaust manifolds to keep things quiet and cool when you're out cruising. New 605 Power steering and Power disc brakes make it easy to drive, and the 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission is a willing accomplice coupled with the 3.08 ratio rear axle achieving 22 mpg on a cross-country trip. It does have a small amount of normal road wear. Very straight car with nice lines and gaps and has been featured in Hubbard's catalog and web and events advertising.
The dual exhaust system sounds awesome with turn-downs just behind the rear wheels, and the upgraded suspension rides with 225/65/14 whitewall radials and with over-sized front and rear stabilizer handles like the 90's Impalas. A very cool custom that lets its Impala DNA shine through loud and clear.
