Manufactured in West Germany between 1962 and 1969 using a 1147 cc, English Triumph 4 cylinder engine and sold mostly in the US, the Amphicar is a true international effort. Fewer than 5000 were ever built and less than 500 still remain. With just 5417 original miles, few Amphi’s exist in as nice a condition as this beauty.
Driven through a 4-speed manual transmission, these cars also have twin screws for propelling the car through the water. This is a unique car you can both splash into the lake in and take home a trophy from the next car show with all on the same day. It’s the quintessential crowd pleaser. There’s even an annual Amphicar show in Michigan where you can get it wet with other amphibious enthusiasts.
This H20 TOY was fully restored in the ‘90s and has been thoroughly enjoyed ever since.
