Before you pass judgement, please be advised I know 1973 Swingers aren't as popular as their earlier brothers. That being said, it is what it is & it's probably the least inexpensive "rotisserie" restored car on the planet.
Starting off as a true "grandma" car, Slant 6 with 65,000 original miles. "2" broadcast sheets, "2" internal build sheets, owners manual & dealer brochure.
Let's start with the body. Totally disassembled, put on a rotisserie & stripped. Amazing "rust free" undercarriage including trunk. Epoxy primed & undercoated for protection. Weld in "frame ties" to added support to the unibody. Door handles shaved & marker lights removed. New front / rear bumpers, new window seals / gaskets, new rubber door / trunk weather moldings, new window fuzzies. All stainless polished. Excellent glass thoughout. Painted Y5 Yellow - solid 9 out of 10.
Interior is all original & excellent - except for new carpet. Everything works as it should, including the factory AM radio. A01 light group & map light. Power steering & "Ice Cold" factory A/C. New A/C compressor, new condensor, new drier & new heater core.
Now powered by a professionally rebuilt 5.2 Liter 318-4V with mild hyd.cam, Eddy aluminum dual plane intake with Eddy 600cfm carburator. Factory cast iron exhaust manifolds(no headers) with new dual exhaust to rear bumper. Other points of interest: New radiator, new fuel & water pump. New chrome Power Master alternator / regulator. New MP valve covers & Eddy matching air cleaner(not pictured) New belts, hoses, distributor & ign.wires. New windshield washer jug & washer motor.
All new front end, bushings, ball joints, idler arm, pitnam arm & monster aftermarket sway bar for better handling. Professionally aligned.
New brakes on all four corners, rotors, calibers, pads, shoes, hardware & drums. New brake, fuel & transmissiion lines. New fuel tank & sender. New V8 torsion bars, new leaf springs & hangers. New gas shocks all the way around. New Cragar SS rims & new radial tires w/less then 1,000 miles. Less then 5,000 miles on restoration. "Runs & Drives Better Then New" Long distance trip over this pasted sunmmer netted 20 plus mpg with A/C on !!!
BE ADVISED: I'm still working on the Dart & plans are for a factory style Mopar dual snorkel hood scoop, black stripe hood treatment to match Bubble Bee stripe. Factory style chrome exhaust tips & reproduction Dixco hood tachometer. Factory style hood pin kit.
UPDATE: I'm currently in the process of doing the above mention upgrades. The plans call for it to be finished by the 1st week of March. Please stay tuned for a new series of photos. Naturally I will have to increase the selling price to $17,000 to cover the additional cost of the upgrades / labor.
ALSO BE ADVISED: I really don't need to sell or actually want to. My engine builder called to inform me that my new 538cu.RB engine was going to run me 10k for a 69 Swinger I'm building. I would rather have the new engine sooner then later - but not if it means loosing my shirt.
