| Vehicle Description |
My 80 year old father is now wanting to sell his 1950 Nash Ambassador that he restored between roughly 1999 and 2003. It's a nice and unique car that was featured on the cover of the Nash Times magazine in January of 2005.
We purchased four cars to complete the project and still have two of parts cars along with the restored one. We have many extra Nash parts. The two parts cars still have engines and transmissions in them.
The condition of my dad's car is one notch below a top rating. It's nice but there are still finishing touches that can be done. My dad's health took a turn for the worse at about the time he was finishing up his Nash project. The engine hasn't been painted up real nice and the radio doesn't work and things of that nature. The car seems to be running good and is fine mechanically to my knowledge.
I'm going to ask for $10,000 for my dad's restored Nash Ambassador and the two parts cars and all of the Nash parts that we have on hand. I think that it's a fair price. If someone just wants the restored Nash, we can negotiate but I'm sure that we've spent more than $10,000 fixing it up. My line of thinking is that the restored Nash is worth $10,000 and the extras are just an added bonus. That is, if you want them.
The restored Nash has a 234 straight six cylinder engine in it and an automatic transmission.
The engine in one of the parts cars was running fine when it was wrecked many years ago, I know that much.
The odometer in the restored car reads 2319 miles. I'm not sure what is up with that. I think that it currently works though. It just has to have more miles that that, however!
This car is a real unique head-turner! I can guarantee that much. You just don't see many like it around these days and it was distinctive during it's day.
I'm not sure what else to say about it. This is a really nice car. It's not quite up to the point where it's going to win awards at car shows at its current restoration level but it's still a real beauty. A lot of work and money went into creating it. The bottom line is that you can have it now for $10,000.
