 Vehicle Description
Stk. 1689 1962 Chevrolet Biscayne

When I take her to the track she really shines (Giddy up giddy up 409) She always turns in the fastest times (Giddy up giddy up 409) my four speed dual quad posi-traction 409 (409, 409, 409, 409) Yep, Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys had it right. They knew a good thing when they saw it, and went on to help Immortalize several cars over the years. So has the owner of this 409. His reputation for concours level restorations is legendary in car circles in the tri-state area. When he found this local car it was in dire need of attention. He masterfully employed a full blown rotisserie treatment to the entire car. Every single fastener was replaced with new. The floor pan was skillfully removed and replaced with all new steel as well as the rear quarter panels. Under the hood every engine part was researched for correct color and texture and then painted to a very high luster and it is evident at every touch point. Speaking of the engine, it is a true wolf in sheeps clothing. It is indeed a true 409 motor but one that has been completely massaged and stroked to become a 440. Lined up behind that stout power plant is a 4 speed Muncie tranny sending all that power out back to a road friendly, 3.36 posi rear end. Ease onto that generous red, tartan plaid cloth and vinyl split back seat and you are reminded of what comfort really felt like back in the day. The mixture of horizontal sweep speedometer and full round gauges is positively both art deco and spartan all in one. Meticulously painted in code 8259 Ermine White and then buffed to a high luster, this paint finish goes way beyond that of anything that came out of the factory in 1962. The same holds true for the undercarriage. Every inch underneath this beauty received the same exacting attention to detail. From its dog dish hubcaps right down to the ground, this Chevy is "One Fine 409". Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at www.autobarnclassiccars.com for more information.
