This is a rare opportunity to own and enjoy a very unique American classic muscle car. The 1964 GTO was the first American muscle car and was designed by the late John Delorean and marketed by Jim Wangers. By 1967 the GTO had come into its own, selling over 275,00 units and many GTO enthusiasts agree the 1967 was the high water mark in terms of styling, performance and appeal. Offered here is a incredibly well optioned convertible that is in fantastic condition. I hold the Pontiac Historical Society''s (PHS) report that provides authentic GM documentation showing where the car was made, where it was delivered and the options it was born with. This GTO has it''s matching numbers 335 hp engine (Pontiac 400), Turbohydromatic 400 transmission (with Hurst dual gate shifter), and correct differential. Some of the factory options are power steering, power brakes, power top, power antenna, factory air conditioning, 8 track tape player (working), rally instrument cluster including hood mounted tach, wood sport/tilt steering wheel, Hurst dual gate shifter, center console, and Redline tires mounted on Hurst alloy wheels. The PHS documentation has all of these and many more minor options showing how the car was built. The sharp color combination is what she was born with and may be the most desirable combination available.
I have owed her since 2011 and have rebuilt the engine using a Pontiac specialist, added an Ipod sound system that is completely invisible, had a new top installed and had the front seats rebuilt. I hold the clear California title, PHS documentation and some historical documentation. The radiator support has been signed by Jim Wangers and adds interest if not value. This GTO is ready to enjoy and will continue to appreciate as more Baby Boomers enter the classic car market. Muscle cars of this caliber are becoming scarce as more of them are being bought by museums and foreign investors so don''t delay in setting up a test drive. I can be reached at 818 439 3730.
