| Vehicle Description |
1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car, rare Williamsburg Edition, with ultra-rare glass roof option. Very good condition. Has a series of small dings in driver’s side rear door (bicycle?), and one in the front passenger side fender. Some fading of paint on hood and trunk surfaces...but an easy ten footer. Chrome is straight and shiny, vinyl coach roof is excellent, all glass including the roof panel is excellent (no hazing, no scratches). Undercarriage is quite clean and 100% solid, engine compartment has always been kept very clean and it shows. Runs and drives great, with lots of recent maintenance done (tires, brakes, exhaust, tune-up, shocks, etc...). Leather interior is nearly flawless with only small wear areas visible in the driver’s seat, no tears/rips. Headliner, door panels, carpet, mats, dash….all excellent.
For 1979, the Williamsburg Edition meant a choice of seven two-tone paint schemes (this one is most beautiful - Cordovan Metallic / Crystal Apricot Metallic), and a long list of options as standard including 6-way power seats, with reclining feature for the passenger, carpeted trunk, power vent windows, premium moldings, more. What makes this car an even more unusual find is the list of additional options added on (aside from the glass top) including factory CB radio integrated with the top of the line AM/FM/8-track Quadraphonic stereo system with the neat seek button on the floor. This one even has the visor integrated garage door opener and I have all the original receiver equipment so you can make this 30-year-old technology work perfectly at your home! The list of other options goes on and on….I have the original Tentative Pricing Guide (order sheet) from Lincoln to the dealership that sold the car new – lists all details of option packages with prices, body and trim codes, etc. Been buying old Lincolns for 10 years, have never seen this with a car before. More documentation and pictures are available.
I just returned from a 600 mile trip with this car and would go anywhere in it tomorrow. It has been driven sparingly, but more important – regularly, its whole life – totaling only 115K miles or less than 4000 per year on average. 114K of those miles with the original owner. Heat is good and hot, A/C is ice cold right now, and the stereo even still sounds pretty good. Email Perry at pab1063@new.rr.com or call 920-205-1295. $6200. |
