This is a true 138 Vin SS Chevelle. It was originally manufacture in Fremont CA and has lived in CA all its life. I purchased the car about 10 years ago. I had it re-painted in its original Madera Maroon color about 7 years ago. The paint still looks great but there are a few imperfections here and there, as I actually drive the car. This is not a trailer queen. I also completely restored the interior with a new headliner, seats, carpets, door panels and door seals.
Somewhere in its past the original BB 396 engine was swapped for a BB 402 out of a 71-72 Chevelle. It runs great and has a ton of power. It has a mild cam, roller rockers, an Edelbrock Perfomer aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock Performer RPM 750 cfm carb, full length Hooker headers, an MSD 6AL ignition system, an aluminum radiator, a manually activated auxiliary electric fan, and a trunk mounted battery with a cutoff switch under the passenger seat. The transmission is an M-21 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. I also rebuilt the front suspension with all polyurethane bushings. The front brakes have cross drilled and slotted rotors. KYB gas shocks all around. The car also has a pretty nice stereo with an Eclipse deck in the glove box so that the dash looks stock. I also installed an Ididit tilt steering column. The rear end is a GM 12-bolt with 373 Auburn Gear positraction.
